Soapbox?

I'm in the mood to get on a soapbox about something.  But I don't really have anything to soapbox about.  Not exactly sure why I'm in this mood, except that I'm feeling really good about an exam grade I FINALLY got from an exam 2 weeks ago, and that it is 11pm and I'm still awake, and therefore punchy.  Maybe tomorrow I'll soapbox about something.  I think I'll keep this post available to soapbox whenever I feel the need.  When I do, I'm sure it will fall into one of two categories: Social justice or personal responsibility, which often affects social justice.  Maybe one day I'll take my social justice soapbox rants public and make some good happen with them.

  1. If any portions of this exam were essay answers, or there was more than 40 students in the class, I don't think 2 weeks was too long to wait. Or, if it is being graded by a TA who is also trying to deal with their own midterms. Just saying.

  2. Nope. Scantron. Exam was Wednedsay, grades were supposed to be posted by Friday at 5pm. The professor was surprised by the questions about grades on Monday, and the TA "posted" the grades on Tuesday morning but didn't release them. Then Thursday, he finally released them (so the students could see) and they were the scores for the 1st exam. The uproar in class Friday (9 days after the exam) got the professor asking questions about whether the TA misplaced the Exam 2 scantron sheets and re-ran the Exam 1 set. Monday it was revealed that the exam 2 grades had been "misfiled" by the testing center. I may be mistaken, but I would think that if they were misfiled by the testing center, then the TA would have got NO grades back to post, not mistakenly posted the grades from the 1st exam 2x.
